"Static website lena chahiye ya dynamic?" is one of the first questions business owners ask us. The words sound technical, but the choice is simple once you know what each one does. This guide explains both in plain words, with the real cost, so you can decide without being upsold.
What is a static website?
A static website is a set of fixed pages. The home page, about page, services and contact page are built once and stay the same until a developer changes them. There is no database and no admin panel behind it.
Think of it as a well-designed digital brochure. A visitor opens it, reads about you, and calls, WhatsApps or fills the enquiry form.
Good for: clinics, consultants, CA and law offices, small manufacturers, local shops, service businesses and anyone whose main goal is "people should find us and contact us".
What is a dynamic website?
A dynamic website stores its content in a database and shows it through templates. It has an admin panel where pages, products, photos, offers and blog posts can be added at any time. WordPress is the most common way to build one.
Good for: schools and coaching centres that post notices, manufacturers with many products, real estate firms with changing listings, businesses that want a blog for SEO, and anyone who updates the site every week or month.
Static vs dynamic: side by side
| Static website | Dynamic website | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price (Mantra Tech Fusion) | ₹20,000 + GST | ₹35,000 + GST |
| Admin panel | No | Yes |
| Speed | Very fast | Fast if built cleanly |
| Security | Very little to attack | Needs updates and backups |
| Adding products or posts | Developer needed | Any time, from the admin panel |
| Best when content changes | A few times a year | Every week or month |
| Delivery time (typical) | 7 to 10 working days | 2 to 3 weeks |
Domain and hosting are extra in both cases, and should always be bought in your own name.
Which one ranks better on Google?
Neither type ranks higher just because of how it is built. Google looks at whether the page answers the search, loads quickly on a phone, and comes from a business it can trust. A clean static site often loads faster than a heavy WordPress site, which helps.
Where dynamic sites win is growth. If you plan to publish a blog post every week, add city or product pages, or show new projects, a dynamic site makes that easy, and more useful pages usually means more searches you can appear for.
Five questions to decide in two minutes
- How often will the content change? Rarely: static. Every month or more: dynamic.
- Do you sell many products or show many listings? Yes: dynamic, or an online store if people pay online.
- Do you want to write a blog for SEO? Yes: dynamic.
- Is your budget tight right now? Start static. It can be upgraded later without losing the design.
- Who will make changes? If nobody in your team will log in, that is fine. With both types we can make the updates for you when you send them on WhatsApp.
Common mistakes we see
- Paying for a dynamic site and never updating it. Then it is a slower, costlier static site that needs security updates.
- Choosing static for a business with 200 products. Every new product becomes a developer bill.
- Domain in the developer's name. Whatever you choose, the domain, hosting and logins must be in your name.
- No phone or WhatsApp button on mobile. Most visitors in India open your site on a phone. If they cannot tap to call, the site does not bring business, static or dynamic.
Our recommendation
If you are a local business that mainly wants calls and enquiries, start with a static website. If you have products, listings or plans for regular content, go for a dynamic website. If people will pay online, you need an ecommerce website instead.
